An authentic family

The Gaide family, owners of 3 Tyrol-Panoramic chalets in La Rosière with swimming pool, is very involved in the local life of La Rosière.

Roger and Gisèle Gaide, natives of La Rosière, built their chalets in La Rosière in the respect of Savoyard traditions, in stone and wood.

A family that listens to you and takes special care of every detail in the organization of your stay. They also share with you their passion for skiing, their knowledge of the region, their attachment to mountain values and local history. Discover our passions.

Roger the builder and the skier

In winter, he skis every day regardless of the weather.  He loves skiing, slalom, he participates in the ski instructors’ challenge. He also loves the touring ski to get the inaccessible summits …

Summer, his new passion is the trail, he has always run in the mountains but now it’s more serious! His favorite distance: 40 km!

He likes to watch chamois, take pictures in all seasons, climb to the Lac du Retour, bike to the Col du Petit Saint Bernard, fish in the torrent and pick up chanterelles. He knows how to hum the Tyrolean traverse and he sing for the local choir “La voix des Alpages”.

Aline manager of the Panoramic

Aline manages the chalet “le Panoramic” with swimming pool and spa, located at the foot of the slopes, in the Eucherts area. After a 6-year experience in the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry, she returned to her region with her husband Séverin.

In winter, she enjoys telemarking, cross-country skiing, walking on the forest path, dragging Martin’s sled and skiing with Juliette. In the summer she loves to show off her region but also backpacking to discover other cultures.

She is the organizer of the Trail de la Rosière at La Rosière in mid-July and involved as an elected official in the management of the Tourist Office at the EPIC for the commercial and tourist development of the resort. She has developed a certified training in Professional and Personal Coaching and organizes personal development courses.

Marina manager of Tyrol

Marina manages the chalet “le Tyrol” with pool and spa, located in the center of La Rosiere. A former alpine ski competitor, she is now ski instructor at La Rosiere ski school, gives ski and snowboard lessons, loves to go off-piste behind the Roc Noir, still trains in slalom for the ski instructor challenge

In the summer, she helps Roger and Nicolas to build or maintain the chalets. She likes to collect blueberries, chanterelles, and wild plants with her grandmother, sleeping under the stars near the alpine chalet. Mother in 2014 of a little Leonie and Marius in 2017, the new mascot of Tyrol!

She also received the fiber of volunteering: co-organizer of the Trail de la Rosière, member of the Comité des Fêtes de la Rosière to organize the Fête des Clarines à la Rosière on the first Sunday of August, and is part of the web committee of the Office du Tourisme.

This whole family is very active and the children Juliette, Thomas, Martin, Léonie and Marius are already very sensitive to traditions, to the respect of the mountain and take part in many tourist events… to the great pleasure of their parents and grandparents.

Gisèle, a jack of all trades

Heritage Guide in Savoie and Val d’Aosta, she is currently in Qi-Qong training, traditional Chinese medicine and meditation. Specializing in sophrology and energy. She likes to walk with snowshoes, breathe and take the energy of the forest, ski down the Marmot trail without stopping, do wood painting …

In the summer, she walks the trails in search of relics, she likes to wander through the villages and look at the architecture of the oldest chalets. She is involved in the tourist management of the Haute-Tarentaise territory (silver medal for tourism). She also sings in the vocal group.

Gisèle and Roger, both passionate about history, collective memory and photography, are the authors of several books on the Rosière tracing the evolution of tourism in the mountains in order to pass on the history of our country to future generations.

  • Living Up There – 1984 – out of print.
  • The Guide to Your Vacation – 1993 – out of print.
  • And, 100 years up there – 2000 – then Reissued – €38 – available. Delivery available.

This book inscribes in time the mutation between two ways of life: agriculture and tourism and the evolution of the mentalities of the entire Alpine population in this century. You will discover it in each apartment so that you can slip into the backstage of the Rosière.

Nicolas manager of the Planica

Nicolas built in 2004, the chalet “le Planica” with pool and spa, located at the foot of the slopes under the center’s kindergarten. His English wife Fiona and their son Thomas born in 2010 are very involved in the smooth running of the chalet.

Nicolas, member of the French ski jumping team until 1998, was ski and snowboard instructor at the ESF in La Rosière. He loved to jump in the snowpark, ski down the slopes behind the Fort, and clown around at the torchlight descent.

In the summer, he restored the old chalets with Roger: the last one is called the Aiglon, it’s a chalet located in the center of La Rosière for 17 people with a spa, which opened at Christmas 2018.

He loved to escape to the mountains by riding moto trial and trail. He was councilman for 2 terms and a member of the tourism management structure. He died accidentally in January 2020. His cottages are now managed by his wife Fiona.
